For her first Symphony at Sea cruise, Le Boréal will be sailing between the sun-kissed shores of Turkey and Greece taking in the numerous ruins of ancient civilisations.
From Antalya, you will have a chance to visit Fethiye. This ancient Lycian city of whitewashed Ottoman homes conceals sumptuous Lycian tombs dating back to 400 years BC and grouped in a magnificent necropolis carved into a sheer rock face. Our next port of call is Rhodesas its impressive defensive battlements appear on the horizon. This medieval city is a UNESCO World Heritage site and owes much of its charm to the Knights of St. John.
The magic continues along the sinuous coastline and port city of Bodrum, before we call in to Patmoswhere the crenellated silhouette of a monastery stands out against the hills. Kusadasi is an ideal base to discover the ephesus archaeological site which is famous for its sanctuaries, the best known being that of the Goddess Artemis. Our last port of call is Dikili from where we head out to explore the exceptional Pergamum site in a superb hillside setting.
